Android is the most popular smart phone operating system. You can create your own android apps from your machine using the android developing tools. You can download the android developing tools from the internet without paying any money. You need the following software packages in your computer to start android development.
1. Ecipse IDE (It is possible to develop android apps without using an IDE).
2. ADT android devoloping tool or the eclipse plugin for android.
3. Android SDK
Eclipse IDE:
You can download the eclipse IDE from here. After downloading eclipse you will get a zip file. Extract the zip file to an appropriate location in your computer. In that folder there is an eclipse launcher icon is present. You can open eclipse by double clicking that icon. You can make an eclipse shortcut into your desktop by right clicking that icon and choose the create a shortcut menu option.

You can install the ADT in two ways.
1'st way: Installing directly from the developer.android website. Just go to that website from here. Click the "Download" option present at the left side of that website. Under that option you can see another sub tag called "setting up an existing ide". Click that option and you can see that another sub tag "installing eclipse plugin". In that page you can get the ADT downloading URL. Also you can copy it from bellow.

Now open the eclipse IDE and select the Install new Software option. Now an install window will appear and paste the copied URL into the work with option in that window. You can see that a Developer tolls and NDK plugins check boxes appear and you have to check the Developer tool check box.
Click next and the installer will guide you further steps and finally click finish.
2'nd way of installing ADT:
You can also download the ADT from internet as a zip file. For installing ADT as a zip file just follow the steps given bellow.
1. Select the help tab from the menu bar.
2. Choose the install new software option.
3. Click the add button present in the appeared installer window.
4. Click the Archive button on the Add Repository window.
5. Now browse for the ADT zip and select it.
After doing all these steps the installer window will guides you for further steps and finally click finish.
Installing Android SDK:
Final step for starting android development is to install the android sdk. For installing android sdk follow the steps given bellow.
1. Click the window tab from the menu bar.
2. Choose the Android SDK Manager.
3. From the SDK manager window you can download and update appropriate android SDK and other tools.
You can also load the SDK manager from the android SDK folder.
2'nd way of installing ADT:
You can also download the ADT from internet as a zip file. For installing ADT as a zip file just follow the steps given bellow.
1. Select the help tab from the menu bar.
2. Choose the install new software option.
3. Click the add button present in the appeared installer window.
